Compare the wetting performance of 0.1% solution of surfactants under room temperature:

LAS>AOS14-16>AES˜K12>AOS14-18>MES




Test the laundry powder which include 16% of anionic surfactant, 18% of Sodium Tri-polyphosphate (STPP), soda ash, sodium silicate etc. The detergency performance shows:

Sodium Alpha Olefin Sulfonate (AOS) and other surfactants, especially LAS, has very good synergistic reaction. The ratio is LAS : AOS = 8 : 2 is the approved the best. 




The mildness of Sodium Alpha Olefin Sulfonate (AOS) is equal to SLES, while LAS and SLS are both higher. So AOS has extensive application in personal care products. 




AOS is stable under acidic condition, it is quite suitable for personal washing products because the skin of people is weak acidic. Experiments shows the shampoo contains AOS has better foaming performance than that contains SLS. AOS creates fine rich creamy foams, which is loved by most people. So AOS application covers skin creams, lotion, hand washing, facial cream etc.




Due to its good foaming performance, Sodium Alpha Olefin Sulfonate (AOS) is also used in textile dying industry, petroleum chemicals, industry cleaning etc. Also used as foaming wall board, fire-fighting foaming agent, concrete density improver, emulsifier and wetting agent in pesticides.
